There’s no shortage of information today to help us take care of our physical bodies the best foods, the best supplements, the best exercise programs, how many hours of sleep we need. It’s important how we care for our bodies, which “are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you” (1 Corinthians 6:19). But after we’ve done all the right things and look really great on the outside, we can still be weak and weary inside.

I constantly tell my family, "Some people feed their physical bodies three hot meals a day, but they don't feed their inner man a healthy spiritual meal."

He recognized that we have an inner man, and that inner man is the core of who we really are. It is our identity. It controls how we respond to life—our attitudes and our thoughts.

That’s why the apostle Paul prayed “that God would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16).

The inner man is only strengthened by God through the Spirit. We have to take time, we have to find room in our busy lives, to let the Holy Spirit minister life to us, to be nourished, edified, even get corrected by the Word of God.

When we have a prayer life, Bible reading and Bible study we have the strength to walk a victorious life.

Today I encourage you to develop your personal relationship with God on a daily basis, not just once a week in church. When you open your Bible and get into the living and active, Word of God, you are feeding your spirit.

Three things:

One, ask Him to speak to you through His Word and read the Bible carefully, never in a rush. I suggest today to read the book of Philippians.

Two, make it a habit to attend a local church and worship, and receive the sermon into your heart, and fellowship with other people who are in love with Jesus. That’s how your life will be transformed.

Three, be very thankful for your salvation, and nothing greater than the great salvation God has provided through His Son Jesus Christ. Read John 3:16.
